The T.J. Community Mission Foundation hosted a ceremony on Tuesday, May 7 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home to dedicate the Manju Garden and Tree of Life Fountain. A wonderful crowd comprised of donors, families of patients, and staff of T.J. Regional Health were present for the event to commemorate the new garden. Manju Garden was made possible through the generosity of Drs. Bharat and Bharati Mody. Their gift to fund the project was made in memory of longtime friends Ruel and Nell Houchens, Larry Garmon, David and Betty Bailey, Billy Elmore, and Freddie Travis. Dr. Mody shared with those in attendance that “Manju” means “beautiful, as with the morning dew.”
The center piece of the garden is the Tree of Life Fountain and was made possible through the generosity of faithful friend of the Foundation, Larry T. Glass. The Fountain sits atop a beautiful paver patio that offers the opportunity for friends of Shanti Niketan Hospice Home to purchase an engraved paver in memory or honor of a loved one, or to simply to recognize their support of the Home. For more information on how to purchase an engraved paver in the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home Manju Garden simply contact the staff of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation at foundation@tjsamson.org or at 270.651.4619.
