GLASGOW, Ky. — The T.J. Community Mission Foundation, the philanthropic branch of T.J. Regional Health, has announced two transformative new initiatives aimed at enhancing health equity and compassionate care across southcentral Kentucky.
The first new initiative, Dreamcatcher: A Program of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation is a wish-granting program for critically and terminally ill patients—serving both pediatric and adult populations. Unlike national programs, Dreamcatcher is designed with a local focus, offering meaningful experiences for families throughout the region.
The program is inspired and championed by longtime community leader Dr. Bharat Mody and is being launched with initial funding from the Drs. Mody Foundation. The Foundation plans to expand Dreamcatcher through additional community support and partnerships. Program details and application information will be available soon at www.tjcmf.org.
The second announcement is a complete renovation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. The project represents the first capital investment under the Foundation’s “Children’s Day” pediatric health initiative and is aimed at creating a more compassionate, state-of-the-art space for the region’s most vulnerable newborns and their families.
Led by the Women’s and Newborn Department at T.J. Samson, the redesign focuses on comfort, care, and clinical excellence. Construction is set to begin in summer 2025, with project completion expected in the fall.
“These initiatives reflect the Foundation’s continued evolution from a single-focus entity into a regional leader in healthcare innovation and compassionate outreach,” said Randy Burns, Executive Director of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation. “Every project we undertake is driven by our commitment to creating healthier, more hopeful communities.”
